Art Classes
Our teachers enjoy helping their students explore art and find which mediums suit their personal taste and preferences best. Exploration is inherent to art, and our teachers encourage creativity and coloring outside the box! You can see more of our students' artwork in our gallery!

Drawing
When taking drawing lessons, our teachers help their students learn about color theory by practicing using complementary, monochromatic, and analogous color combinations. They learn about perspective and how to change it, discover their ability to create visual texture through a variety of techniques, as well as understanding where and how to use shading, and highlighting. Some students even work towards more illustrative drawing where they tell a story through their artwork (pictured here)!
Painting
Students will be taught about foundational art theory and techniques such as color theory, shape and form, and light and shadow. Additionally students will also be instructed about the vast world of different paint types such as watercolor, gouache and acrylic, and different types of brushes, brush strokes and techniques utilized with each paint variety.

Multimedia Art and Collage
While learning how to use different media, students will combine a variety of materials, learning about how and when to combine textures, shapes, colors and forms in order to make 3D art. Students and teachers will work together to plan and execute 3D designs, planning the different artistic elements that could make their imagined design a reality, preparing the separate elements of their design (often through painting, printing, drawing and cutting or tearing), and then compile each of the various elements into their final piece. 3D art is particularly unique in its ability to engage with the elements and explore the intersection of movement and art (like the student's piece displayed here). This class will teach students the step by step processes for creating 3D art, allowing them to continue to explore the vast world of multimedia art for years to come.
Printmaking
In printmaking our students learn how to create or source stamps to then use with paint or ink in order to create prints of their own design. Eco printing is another form of printmaking where our artists use materials sourced from the natural world to create prints and/or stamps. Layering colors, and creating multiple stamps can lead to some true masterpieces!
